Review:
Mersal, Engaging mass masala movie. Fights, Dances, Punch dialogues that double up as political statements, emotional scenes, peppy music, colorful visuals, and Mass moments that keep you cheering for the hero. Thalapathy Vijay did triple roles for the first time in his career and dialogue delivery, screen presence and Performances are Big Plus. Among the heroines, Nithya Menon Steals the Show while Samantha and Kajal Performance are OK. Cinematographer G. K. Vishnu did a fabulous job in his First Film. After Terrific Performance in Spyder, SJ Suryah Does subdued villain well. Vadivelu Scores more in the emotional scenes than in comedy. Samantha and Yogi Babu Comedy Scenes work well. Ruben’s Edits are Sharp and Sleek. Oscar Nayagan AR Rahman Music is Big Plus for the Film. Aazhaporan Tamizha Song will give goosebumps.
The Second half has the flashback portion, and SJ Suriya shines once again as a villain. Atlee’s decision to bring writer Vijayendra Prasad on board has paid off and we can also see fingerprints of the Baahubali writer can be found in many scenes like in the scene in the flashback portion, where Thalapathy Vijay brings down a giant wheel single hand. Overall The Film Pakka commercial Film and Won’t Disappoint You.
Rating: 3/5
